Another challenge card

I was making a card for my sister-in -law and thought it a good idea to follow this weeks sketch over at "Mojo Monday"--- below is the sketch i followed, hope i didn't leave any of the components off as that's what i did with the last one i entered-- "I better double check" --lol !!

Its so cold here at the moment, my heating bill is going to be huge :-(         --as its on all the time !!   The snow isn't moving and is feet deep --- you cant see the curbs at the side of the road. Anyway more time to make cards --lol !

Anyway here is the card i have for my Sister-in-law --------

This is the sketch from Mojo Monday that i followed ---wish me luck!   Why not join me - lol !

Thank you for looking, it would be lovely if you left me a comment so i could visit your blog !

Mojo Monday Challenge

I've made this Flower Fairy card for a challenge on the Mojo Monday challenge blog --- i found the sketch interesting to do and really got my mojo going --lol

I've used a peel-off with a picture sheet. You lay the peel-off on-top of the picture sheet and cut round it, i think they're very effective ---added a butterfly and some gems to finish off   (just realized that i forgot to put a strip through the middle of the card --doh !)

This is the first time i have entered any challenge so please wish me luck !

Stitching card's

I've made these three stitching cards from Ann's Paper art booklet. I used metallic thread and decoupage in the centre.  I enjoy doing these and i can also watch the TV at the same time, i find them very relaxing.

Cards for my two Niece's!

I have made these two cards for my two niece's who are 19 years old and twins. I like to make them the same style as i wouldn't want them to think that there sisters card was nicer than their own -- hmmmm!!

The cards were made using papers from a "Making Cards" magazine ---they are "Craftworkcards" papers!

The bow was made by slotting both ends through a punched hole and then tied into a knot--make sure the hole isn't too big so the knot doesn't pull back through. The little owl was coloured using watercolour pencils.

Crafting with my Nephew !

My nephew David spent a couple of days with me during his school summer holidays, he enjoyed doing a bit of crafting with me besides watching telly and playing with his DS gadget :-) ...... David loves using my computer and wanted to try out my card making programs, this is the card he made for his friends birthday...the caption was his own idea --lol !

Isn't it nice to see boys interested in crafting .... he also loves tapestry which he did at school !!  .... but it would take second place to football, cricket, rugby .....and playing on his playstation ---lol !!

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Two in row !

Hello bloggers ---sorry  i've been neglecting my blog again ! I've been really busy making cards as June and July are very busy times for celebrations in our family but was unable to take pic of them as son took the camera on holiday with him ---hmmmm !! ......  anyway got it back now so here are a couple i managed to photograph before they went into the post ---lol !

Its quite some time since i used "Iris Folding" on a card so when i was given this pattern by a friend i couldn't wait to try it out. I've got to say i love the finished results ---can't wait to try it out in a different colour !  Hope you like it also!

I made this card for a friend, i know she will love this Sarah Key image. I used my Promarkers to colour it, i'm not very good at shading yet but keep trying--lol !    I'm sorry the pic is a bit fuzzy tried a few times to take a pic but it didn't make any difference, anyway hope you like it.

Sarah Kay !

I made this card for one of my friends birthdays last week, its an easel card which i love to make. I know she received it a few days ago so its safe to post it now!
I coloured the image with "Promarkers", the papers were free downloads from http://www.papercraftinspirationsmagazine.co.uk/?catname=/FREE%20Templates  (the one i used was "Flutterby Fancies" )

I'm quite new to Promarkers but love using them, i'm trying not to use too many colours on my images and also pick the papers i'm going to use before i start to colour the image which i find really helps !

Hope you like it !

Brothers birthday

http://craftymomentscardmaking.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.htmlI made these two cards for my brothers birthdays, they share the same birthday but there is 6 years difference both being  born in the 50's and played these games in the days when there were no computers or game consuls  --there is always a lot of ribbing going on as to who's Birthday it is on the day--lol !

You can download the free sheets i used and more on Vince Ballards blog ----
http://craftymomentscardmaking.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
I think Vince is very talented, i love his ideas ! I hope i have done his images justice -- my brothers loved the cards i made for them, hope you like them  !

Cupcake

I love cupcakes --who doesn't ! --  just the look of them makes my mouth water --lol !

I coloured this image with Sakura pens using water and a paint brush, this way the ink isn't so heavy. I added a nice red gem for the cherry and a bow to finish it off !

Hope you like it !

Unusual Silver Wedding card !

This card is not the traditional silver wedding card but the person its for is quite young and likes cutie type cards so i came up with this one, hope you like it !

I coloured the image with my new Promarkers ---just learning so nothing complicated,  i added some Glamour dust which adds some sparkle and a ribbon to finish it off. The message was embossed in Silver --had to have something silver on it !

Wedding card !

The image on this card was painted at a class i went to with Promarkers,  i used some glamour dust to add a bit extra sparkle which doesn't show up very well in the pic. I used the Cuttlebug hearts folder down the centre but as it was an A5 card it wouldn't go through the Cuttlebug the right way, i had to mount the two pieces of embossed card down the centre and join it secretly underneath the image ---what we have to do -lol!

The ribbon idea came from a bought card --- i punched a hole at the top and slotted a doubled piece of ribbon and then slotted it underneath the fold on the other side ---if you can understand that !!

Hope you like it !

Clarity stamping !

I should have posted this last week but forgot!

Some friends of mine from the Imag-e-nation forum (which is closing next week) meet from time to time for a day of crafting and chat and sometimes just coffee and shop but whatever it is we always enjoy each others company and have a laugh along the way --lol !

We had a treat last week as one of the demonstrators in the shop we like to go to (Strikes Garden centre in Bournmoor, Durham ) is a fan of Clarity stamps by Barbara Gray and the shop also stock them. They are lovely stamps on there own or you can use more than one to build a picture by masking different areas of the pic and also use other techniques like braying and sponging to build a picture.

I got the opportunity to try the tecnique out and this is the finished result, it is just a raw project and needs to be made into a card but i think i will just keep it on the wall in my craft room.

I also made this card for my sister who is feeling under the weather to cheer her up, she loves pigs so thought this would make her smile !
I stamped the image at a friends crafting get-together and colourd it in with Watercolour pencils ----- loved the finished card !

I think its a nice cheerfull card !  Hope you like it too ----

Its about time i posted some cards !

Hi everybody, what a day i've had !
The forum that i am a regular poster is closing at the end of the month. It was a shock when i heard the news yesterday and couldn't imagine life without being part of it as i have got so many precious cyber friends on there. Some of them i meet up with who live in my area but others who don't i didn't want to loose touch with. I'm pleased to say that one of the members decided to start a new forum so lots of people have been moving over today so thank you Lynn for all your hard work !

Thought you might like to see some cards i have made recently!

First one was made for my Mother-in law to give to friends for their Golden Wedding.  Thank you to Daizy-Mae from the imag-e-nation forum helped me with the gold initials !

Second one is a stitched card i made using a template i bought at a craft show, you prick the pattern in a circle and stitch very much like spirelly --i added a "moorhouse" decoupage of a boy and girl in the centre !

Third one was made using a embossing folder and then i used glamour dust on the embossing to highlight it !

Thank you for looking

My Fair lady

I made this card for my mam's 80th birthday, she loves the film "My Fair Lady" so it went down a treat!
The decoupage image was the full length of a A4 card and was from Nancy Watt and the papers were from Papermania,  i added some glamour dust (my favorite product ) to the image which you can't see on the picture which is a shame as it gives it a lovely sparkle.

Hope you like it and thank you for looking

Sister's 50th birthday card

Hi everybody!
I made this birthday card for one of my sisters, it was her 50th birthday and she likes stylish things so thought she would love this beautiful chandelier. Inspiration was taken from Jak at Crafters Kitchen who's work i admire!

Side view to show the silver embossing and brad !

I stamped and embossed the image in silver and then added some "glamour dust" to give it a bit sparkle, i was going to use some black embossing powder on it but it turned out a mess because the powder stuck to the card and left specks all over it --urggg !!    --- so i decided to use silver instead !

The card was made with "Pink Frog" black stardream card, i love this card as its nice and strong with a lovely finish.  The beautiful backing paper was a freeby thanks to Jak  from Crafters Kitchen---the chandelier stamp was from "Papermania"  --   I used a computer generated message and added some black gems, i used two pieces of black ribbon tied in a knot in the centre with a spacer and brad from Hobbyhouse to hold it in place. I loved the finished result,  i hope you do!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking !

Hi everybody, i'm sorry i've neglected my blog !!  I promised i would post regularly but life just catches up, anyway this is a card i made recently for a friends birthday.

This is a card i made from the Making Cards magazine using the Nancy Watt Collection  "Birds Swirls and Florals" I used my own idea of putting the flowers on the top!  I added some glamour dust (my fav product at the moment) to the bird but it doesn't show up on the pic !

Debbi Moor card

He everybody!
I think my new years resolution should have been to post each week instead of everyday, i think the latter is a tall order for me just yet --lol.
I thought i would show you this card which i made for my friends birthday which was in Dec. I used the Debbi Moor "Glitter & Glitz" sheet, the idea came from her website  http://www.debbimoore.co.uk/projects-detail.asp?projectid=49   I  mounted it onto pearlised Stardream card and glammed it up by added some Glammer dust and some jewels.

Hope you like it and thankyou for looking.

Happy New Year

Hi everybody !!
I would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year with good health !! ( because i think that is the main thing) and everything you wish for yourselves !!

I hope to be a better blogger this year -- that is part of my resalution and try and make a post every day ! I would also like to try some of the challengers, they look so much fun and i think it must get the insperation going which is sorely lacking with me sometimes.

My hopes for this year are that my nephew who is a marine stays safe! ---and all the others who are with him who are doing a very difficult job. Some are in situations that we can't possibly begin to imagine !!

For me -- I'm determined to be more organized in every area of my life -- will have to work hard at this - lol !
I also intend to eat much more healthily. I have said this before, but i lost 8lb in the later part of this year--- but then Xmas came with all its temptations --well we need a treat now and again lol. Now the holiday season is over its back to shedding some more. Its difficult for me as i'm not very active because of health reasons but i'm not going to let that be an excuse, i do feel alot better with a few pounds off and i think i'm not so sluggish when i eat better!!

Now off to make some cards !

Thanks for visiting !
